Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced
Radiation Physicist - Oncology
to join our partner, a
Level III Trauma Center in West Houston, TX . This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the
precision, safety, and effectiveness
of radiation therapy treatments for cancer patients while supporting the implementation and management of advanced radiation therapy techniques.
Key Responsibilities Perform
calibration, quality assurance, and safety assessments
of radiation therapy equipment. Support the
dosimetric and beam delivery aspects
of external beam therapy and brachytherapy. Oversee the use of
treatment aids, beam modifiers, and geometrical arrangements
for optimal radiation delivery. Assist in the planning and execution of
specialized radiation therapy procedures , including:
External Beam Therapy : Radiosurgery, Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Total Skin Irradiation (TSI), and Intraoperative Therapy. Brachytherapy : High Dose Rate (HDR) and Intravascular Brachytherapy.
Collaborate with
radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists
to develop and optimize patient treatment plans. Ensure compliance with
state and federal regulations
regarding radiation safety and patient care. Provide
technical expertise and guidance
on advanced radiation therapy techniques and new treatment technologies. Required Qualifications
M.S. degree in physical science . Minimum of two years of experience
in therapeutic medical physics within a hospital or clinic-based setting (including educational training). Active Texas Medical Physicist License
in
Therapeutic Medical Physics
OR
Temporary Medical Physicist License . Board Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics (ABR)
OR eligibility for certification. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
advanced radiation therapy technologies and treatment modalities . Strong knowledge of
radiation physics principles, dosimetry, and beam modeling . Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Why Join Us?
