The Program Manager’s primary role is to supervise and implement the Chicago Advocacy Network for Hope (CAN Hope) program goals by supporting Navigators in their roles of serving survivors of domestic violence as they access CAN Hope services. The Program Manager will assist the Program Director in coordinating program services offered by CAN Hope’s On-Site and Off-Site Partners. This role will also fill in as a Navigator and Receptionist as needed to maintain program coverage. DEI&AB Culture Commitment:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision to assigned Navigators. Manage the Navigators’ work schedules to ensure consistent coverage for survivors and community members visiting CAN Hope. In collaboration with the CAN Hope Program Director, coordinate On-Site and Off-Site Partner schedules to ensure consistent service offerings for survivors. Utilize a trauma-informed approach to conflict resolution between survivors, Navigators, and Partners as needed to ensure services remain consistent and survivor-centered. Serve as on-site Program Supervisor when Program Director is off-site or out of office. Participate either as a volunteer or paid attendee at organization fundraisers. Participate in ChicagoCAC sponsored client/staff/community events. It is expected that supervisory staff participate in as many of these events as possible. Direct Services:
Communicate with visitors by phone or email to schedule appointments at the center or be available to accept visitors on a drop-in basis. Coordinate with fellow team members (Receptionists, Navigators) to welcome visitors to the center utilizing skills such as relationship-building, crisis intervention, and cultural humility. Conduct the centralized intake process using a survivor-centered approach for survivors who have experienced domestic violence. Initiate and follow-through with advocacy services for assigned survivors by conducting outreach through safe contact methods. Practice cultural humility and anti-racism by regarding survivors as leaders and the experts of their experiences using skills such as active listening, non-judgmental approaches, radical acceptance, and supporting survivor choice. Utilize trauma-informed care approaches by regarding each survivor as a whole person with intersecting identities, relationships, needs, and desires living within an environment of systems that are built on oppression of historically and currently marginalized populations. Function as Navigator or Receptionist when needed or assigned to fulfill center staffing roles and ensure continuation of services. Administration:
Support the CAN Hope Program Director in generating program reports. Use those reports to inform program development. Complete timely required documentation for every survivor interaction through hard case files and/or database. Maintain center physical cleanliness and organization as assigned. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings, partner meetings, and agency meetings. Attend and participate in staff development trainings. Actively participate in on-going CAN Hope program development. Travel to ChicagoCAC headquarters as needed for scheduled meetings or other responsibilities. Support survivor leadership activities. Other duties as assigned. Professional Development:
Practice continuing education by consistently learning about available resources, theoretical frameworks, current practices, relevant research studies, and specialized training about survivors of domestic violence. Attend webinars, trainings, workshops, and conferences to advance knowledge about survivor-centered services. Share learnings with the CAN Hope team and partners on an ongoing basis. Perform in local networking opportunities. Community Engagement:
Attend community outings, resource fairs, collaborations, etc. as a steward of the CAN Hope Initiative. Build and foster relationships with community members to offer engagement with the CAN Hope Initiative as survivor leader, to receive services, or both. Build and foster relationships with community organizations that intersect with domestic violence survivors. Discretion
The Program Manager acts with a mid-level range of discretion and independent decision-making. Supervisory Responsibilities

The Program Manager works closely with the CAN Hope Program Director, Navigators, and Receptionists, as well as representatives from partner agencies. Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work strongly preferred; minimum bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required. Two years’ experience of supervisory or management roles required. Three years’ experience working in a domestic violence survivor services program required. Free LCSW clinical supervision available on-site for individuals seeking licensure. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Strong team building, problem solving, organizational, and oral communication skills are necessary. Demonstrated knowledge of multiple cultures and the cultural impact on the delivery of services is a must. Training or experience in working with people who have experienced violence, survivors of trauma, people diagnosed with disabilities, and people diagnosed with mental health disorders. Knowledge of the Cook County court system, Chicago area social service system, and victim’s rights. Completion of 40-Hour Illinois Domestic Violence Training (or a transferable state), or to be obtained within 3 months of hire date. Paid Time Off (“PTO”): PTO starts accruing the first day of employment and accrues at a rate of 35 days in a 12-month period. PTO days are used for all days off, including holidays and sick time so you have maximum flexibility in the use of your PTO. Timing of vacations may be dependent on client needs, as that’s our first priority. PTO goes up to 40 days after 5 years. Additional PTO for FMLA-related reasons up to 20 days. A remote work policy that provides flexibility in work hours so long as operational needs are met. Regular expert training on evidence-based therapy modalities, which includes being able to earn Continuing Education Units. Based on funding and internal equity, the starting salary for this position may fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
