Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, limited after hours Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical services and assists physicians within their specific scope of expertise. Makes independent decisions in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists and instructs students. Supervises other positions. Additional Department Summary:
Provides clinical services for University Medical Center Resident Clinics. Uses independent decision making in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists physicians within their specific scope of expertise. Works to improve efficiency, organization, and patient/clinic flow. Assists with day-to-day operations, resolves issues, and contributes to the improvement of quality of care, as well as patient and provider satisfaction.
Follows all established clinical procedures and workflows for patient care and communication, privacy/security, and other regulatory requirements. Partners with the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate. Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Certification Program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of Family Medicine. Current/valid RN license in the State of Alabama. Two (2) years of broad or specialized professional experience as a nurse practitioner.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Excellent clinical, organizational and administrative skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively with student patients, faculty, staff and other health care professionals. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment. Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions. Ability to maintain strict confidentially of protected health information and follow HIPAA regulations at all times. Background Investigation Statement:
