She Never Tells Salon is looking for an Entry Level Cosmetologist to join our rapidly growing team. We are seeking new cosmetology graduates for our Stylist Trainee Position.

Description

The Stylist Trainee is an essential position in any salon. Not only do they aid experienced stylists and help ensure the smooth running of a salon, but for many aspiring stylists, it means their foot in the door of a salon operation and a step into the hair care industry where they are trained and supported by a master cosmetologist.

At She Never Tells, the Stylist Trainee will assist experienced stylists as well as get the opportunity to independently serve the Salon’s rapidly growing clientele. She Never Tells is a team-based salon. We work together on a daily basis to provide an amazing salon experience for all of our guests. All employees are compensated hourly. Tips from clientele are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist Master Cosmetologist as well as independently perform salon services
• Greet clients and provide them with refreshments
• Prepare clients for treatment/services
• Shampoo clients' hair
• Sweep floors
• Wash and fold towels
• Keep the salon clean and tidy
• Stock the retail areas
• Re-stock retail hair care products

Schedule

This position will be required to work a day shift average of 3 to 4 days a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Occasionally training and development may take place on a Monday or Tuesday. Occasional hair shows or trainings out of town may fall outside of these days. The hours will be discussed upon hiring.

COVID-19 Considerations

All team members are required to wear a mask, curbside pick up is available for customer product orders, and heightened cleanliness standards are in place.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Indiana State Cosmetology License
• Customer service oriented
• Able to communicate effectively with all clients and team members
• Maintain a professional appearance consistent with She Never Tells policies

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs. to stock retail shelves
• Occasional lifting 10-25 lbs. to assist unloading monthly shipment of products
• Continuous standing throughout the day
• Continuous reaching, alternating between shoulder level and above shoulder level height to stock shelves
• Occasional pushing and pulling to move styling chair
• Continuous exposure to various chemicals and fragrances used in performing services and styling hair
• Occasional climbing of ladder/stepstool to stock shelves, retrieve products and maintain salon
• Ability to communicate with customers regarding services offered and requested
• Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills necessary to read and complete company forms and other documents
• Occasional travel to mandatory meetings and training sessions, including overnight travel
