The Recruiter will support the agency to recruit and hire talented individuals that will ensure the success of our agency’s programs. This role will focus on sourcing applicants from multiple areas including referrals, online job boards, and our careers website. The incumbent must convey to all potential and interested applicants the culture of St. Louis Arc and the benefits of working for St. Louis Arc in terms of career growth, life-work balance and a positive environment. The primary success measure for this role is delivering high quality screened candidates to the hiring managers in our program areas. The role requires excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills, as well as attention to detail, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills. All duties must be performed with absolute courtesy and integrity, and in compliance with all applicable Federal and State employment laws and regulations.This position is salaried, 40 hours/week Monday-Friday in an office environment.
What you will do:
- Ensure placed job advertisements are brand-focused, fun and engaging for potential applicants.
- Engage in outreach throughout the St. Louis area to connect with active and passive job seekers.
- Screen applicants for fit, including qualifications, mission-focus and growth potential.
- Post job opportunities on multiple job boards as appropriate and collaborate with local area universities, institutions, and professional associations to source qualified candidates.
- Connect qualified candidates with agency hiring managers to ensure a positive experience for candidates in the screening and interview process.
- Work to match candidates with the position(s) that most closely meet their skills, qualifications, and compensation requirements.
- Extend offers of employment and ensure successful onboarding, including background checks and reference checks when appropriate.
- Manage appropriate communication to all applicants and candidates regarding the status of their application(s) for positions, including notices of positions filled, acknowledgement of candidate withdrawal, recommendations for other positions, and offer letter(s).
- Collaborate with others on the HR team to ensure consistency in recruitment processes. Engage in idea sharing and teamwork with HR team, hiring managers and agency leadership.

What we expect of you:
The flexible, respectful individual we see is an innovative and quick thinker with these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of professional level recruitment experience.
- Additional experience in retail, sales, and/or customer service roles preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and other software systems (ATS and HRIS experience strongly preferred).
- Ability to use standard office equipment and related technologies in the performance of duties.
- High comfort level with telephone conversations and virtual meeting environments.
- Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.
