Dr. Page B. Pennell, Chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC, is seeking an exceptional Division Chief for Epilepsy to join and help lead our world-class health system. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, be board certified in Neurology and in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology, and be eligible for an unrestricted PA license. Prior leadership experience in a clinical or research setting is preferred. An academic appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor is expected.

Leadership Position Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations, scheduling, quality assurance activities, and participate in departmental and medical staff committees.
- Collaborate on budget planning, report preparation, maintain division web content, and participate in performance evaluations.
- Foster or lead research initiatives within the Epilepsy division.
Department and Epilepsy Division Overview
- The Epilepsy Division provides comprehensive services for adults with epilepsy and seizures, accredited as a level 4 epilepsy center by NAEC.
- Services include outpatient clinics, EEG, EMU, video EEG monitoring, and subspecialty clinics.
- The upcoming 10-bed adult EMU will open in November 2024 with advanced technology.
- Research contributions include new antiseizure medications and surgical outcomes improvements.
