Bronx House Summer Day Camp Unit Leaders will be responsible for providing daily supervision to staff and campers. This position runs 7 ½ weeks from June -August 19th, Mon-Fri.
Responsible for the following: Supervising day camp unit counselors and camper groups on the campgrounds and trips. (Trips subject to CDC/DOH guidelines) Assisting with day camp planning. Contacting venues to book unit trips. Confirm with trip venues a week before trip days. Participating in camp open house tours and other special activities/events. Assisting with campsite readiness preparation. Working as a cohesive team with all camp supervisors. Assisting with creating/maintaining a positive camp culture through coaching and role modeling. Ensuring camp spirit is promoted and actively present. Addressing and following up with parent concerns/inquiries daily and as needed. Participating in weekly staff meetings which will include schedule planning for the upcoming week with counselors. Evaluating counselors before the end of each session. Participating in total camp programming including opening and closing days and special events/activities. Qualifications: Must be fully vaccinated/boosted for COVID-19. Experience working with children in a summer camp setting. At least 1 year of supervisory experience. Minimum 21 years of age. Demonstrate a solid understanding of and ability to provide great customer service. Effectively resolve conflicts. Effectively supervise/guide staff to lead activities and trips and to maintain ample energy. Candidate must exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Length: 1 - 3 months Salary:
$5,550 for the summer
Schedule: Monday to Friday
