Overview
As an ASC Procedure Tech RN, you play a vital role in ensuring seamless surgical procedures. You will assist physicians by preparing the operating field, providing instruments and supplies per physician preferences, and working collaboratively throughout the procedure. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering sedative medications within scope, and maintaining equipment. Your expertise ensures patient safety and efficiency in the ambulatory surgical setting.
What You'll Be Doing
• Assists physician by providing instruments and supplies to perform the scheduled procedure according to the documented physician's preferred routine for that procedure.
• Prepares the operating field for the procedure.
• Works cooperatively with the physician during the procedure.
• Cleans and maintains equipment.
• Monitors vital signs, when applicable
• Gives sedative medications within the scope of practice under the order of the Physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What We Expect from You
• Current Ohio state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Experience in operating or procedure rooms is strongly preferred
• Experience in central processing functions related to facility equipment is strongly preferred
• Experience or training in disinfection and sterilization processes is preferred
• Documented completion of a surgical technician course, RN program, or the facility's staff development program for operating room technicians is strongly preferred.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
Mental Demands
Requires frequent and constant judgment and response; rarely in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills. Require language skills adequate for high-level interpersonal and written communication in American English.
Physical Demands
Require high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional
overhead and low reaching, and to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Patient care activities require the ability to exert force of up to 30 lbs. constantly, up to 40 lbs. occasionally and up to 100 lbs. rarely.
Occupational Exposure
Category I exposure to blood-borne pathogens may encounter chemical and/or radiation hazards.
