Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our machining department. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for multi-axis machining operations using Mastercam. The CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and shop floor personnel to ensure precise, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for milling and lathe operations.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and design data to determine machining dimensions and configurations.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining efficiency.
- Establish workpiece coordinates and machine cutting paths.
- Utilize Renishaw probes for setting workpiece coordinates.
- Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and detailed work instructions.
- Manage and control tooling lists for all machines.
- Ensure CNC programs are prepared in accordance with production schedules.
- Revise programs to correct errors, optimize cycle times, and enhance efficiency.
- Verify program accuracy by observing initial machine operations and troubleshooting as needed.
- Provide technical support to machine operators and supervisors.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department efficiency and production quality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- 35 years of experience in CNC programming for precision machining.
- Proficiency in Mastercam for multi-axis programming.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
- Hands-on experience programming for both milling and lathe operations.
- Familiarity with industry-standard controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain.
- Ability to work collaboratively to resolve technical issues with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
Preferred:
- Experience using Renishaw probes for setting coordinates.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Technical degree in Manufacturing, Machining, or Engineering.
