The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the month end close process, including reviewing various accounts (accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, payables, etc.), and consolidating and performing various analytics. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the daily treasury function, including transferring funds and analyzing spend. As we are a public company, this position is responsible for maintaining internal controls and working directly with the external auditors. The AR Accountant and AP clerk report into this position. Xeris is a fast-growing Company that is looking for candidates that are eager to grow and develop with the Company. This role also has a dotted line reporting to the Controller. Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes Maintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements Review journal entries and account reconciliations for corporate functions, including accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, payables, etc. Establish, document and maintain proper accounting policies, processes and procedures Manage treasury duties including but not limited to adequately maintaining appropriate cash levels, intercompany funding, liquidity management, process and review daily and weekly cash disbursements Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures levels for cash management and treasury operations Manage the procure to pay process and implement efficiencies as needed, responding promptly and thoroughly to the evolving needs of the business Work with Finance and Finance Leadership to enhance cash forecasting and modeling Prepare certain financial statement disclosures Develop and manage direct reports Perform ad hoc financial analysis and lead and/or support special projects as required Prepare support and documentation for external auditors Maintain strong internal controls and recommend improvements to controls as needed Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting CPA preferred, not required SOX 404 experience preferred, not required 5+ years of experience in Accounting Experience in Public Accounting preferred High level understanding of GAAP and internal controls - Sarbanes Oxley Advanced skills in Excel Competencies: Analytical skills, Attention to detail, Organizational skills, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Time Management, Independent Judgement, Interpersonal Communication skills, Adaptability, People Management Working Conditions Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary, to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at managements discretion.
