POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer will assess manufacturing processes and mechanical integrity of products to ensure they will meet or exceed the company and customer’s expectations. This role will be responsible for implementing new products into the manufacturing environment, applying lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and design and process improvements.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Implementation of hands-on manufacturing processes using fabrication and tool & die making skills.
2. Identify, analyze, and implement continuous quality improvement in design and manufacturing process efficiency, safety, quality, and cost.
3. Development of work processes to ensure that products are assembled properly and meet quality objectives through work instructions and training.
4. Perform capacity analysis, manufacturing process design, line layout design for existing and new manufacturing process and machine needs, and develop better tools or systems.
5. Participate in procurement, installation, and runoff of new equipment processes.
6. Coordinate, provide input, and participate in specification, design, build, development, and launch of new products.
7. Develop and maintain process documentation in support of IATF certification.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field required.
2. 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience.
3. Ability to analyze and redesign using Auto CAD / Inventor / SolidWorks.
4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Techniques.
5. Experience with quality system planning and certification, such as IATF, ISO & TS16949.
6. Experience in Six Sigma.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, & KNOWLEDGE

1. Skilled in Microsoft Office.
2. Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
3. Knowledge of Auto CAD.
4. Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.
5. Ability to problem solve through 8D approach.

TRAVEL
Occasional travel may be required (domestic and international).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. This position is also subject to moderate work; exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and an amount of force to move or lift objects. Standing, walking, pushing, lifting, feeling, talking, and hearing are required.

VISUAL ACUITY
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role will take trips to the shop floor as needed and will be subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
