Overview
will be responsible for plant operations at both StanChem Resins (East Berlin, CT and Lodi, NJ), overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring operational efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance, while driving continuous improvement initiatives, meeting production goals, enhancing productivity, and implementing innovative strategies to support the company’s growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop operations and production teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all manufacturing operations. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and cost controls. Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve product quality through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Drive initiatives to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure production meets customer specifications and industry standards. Implement corrective actions and preventative measures when quality issues arise. Manage budget, monitor spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure the efficient use of resources. Work closely with R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure the timely delivery of products, alignment on customer demands, and continuous product development. Provide regular reports on production performance, key metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives to senior management. Analyze data and provide insights to optimize operations. Develop short- and long-term manufacturing capacity plans to meet future demand. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, support employee training programs, and process enhancement projects. Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and manage inventory levels. Required Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required Experience:
5-7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing management, with proven career progression in a polymer or chemical manufacturing environment. “Hands-on” - Requires a leader who will be involved in the day to day of the plant operations as well as long term strategies and be visible in the plant to drive improvements Additional Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including chemical or polymer production, quality control, and process optimization. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving operational efficiency. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
