Position Overview: Turn 14 Distribution Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic IT Director to lead our IT operations, infrastructure, and support services. This role will oversee the IT help desk, manage enterprise systems, ensure network security, and drive technology initiatives that align with business objectives. The IT Director will be key in shaping the company’s IT strategy, optimizing system performance, and fostering a high-performing IT team. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy to support business goals. Lead and manage the IT team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management. Establish IT policies, best practices, and security protocols to ensure compliance and efficiency. Oversee IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance productivity and innovation. Infrastructure & Systems Management:
Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments. Manage and administer VMware environments for optimal performance and reliability. Oversee Google Workspace administration and integrations with business applications. Lead the management of hybrid IT environments, including Windows, Mac, and Unix systems. Ensure robust data protection and disaster recovery strategies, including Veeam Backup solutions. Optimize network performance, including Layer 2 & 3 switching, VLANs, VPNs, and Ubiquiti/Unifi networks. Oversee Active Directory, SSO solutions (Okta), and identity management. Help Desk & IT Support Operations:
Ensure the IT help desk delivers high-quality support and meets SLAs. Develop training programs to enhance IT support staff expertise. Monitor and analyze IT service performance, implementing improvements where needed. Oversee IT support for warehouse operations, including logistics and inventory systems. Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices to protect company data. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data security standards. Manage user access controls, multi-factor authentication, and endpoint security. Project Management & Business Continuity:
Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and infrastructure enhancements. Develop and implement Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans. Coordinate IT initiatives across multiple locations and business units. Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for critical incident management. Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum 5 years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Proven experience managing and leading IT teams, including technical support and system administration. Strong knowledge of VMware environments, Google Workspace administration, and Microsoft Office Suite. Expertise in Windows administration, Active Directory, and Unix/macOS system management. Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, including Layer 2 & 3 switching, VLANs, LAN/WAN, and Cisco/Unifi networking. Strong network troubleshooting skills and experience managing VPN and remote access solutions. Experience with cybersecurity best practices, including Sentinel One, identity management, SSO, and Okta integrations. Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam Backups. Knowledge of SQL administration for database maintenance and optimization. Experience in warehouse operations IT support, including logistics and inventory systems. Competence in mobile device management and security. Demonstrated experience in vendor relations, procurement, and contract management. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ensure compliance with IT security policies. Strong project management skills, including managing long-term IT initiatives across multiple locations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
