Description POSITION SUMMARY: Academic members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services. This entails engaging students, fostering learning, role modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained faculty preparing students for professional careers. This includes working with the Program Directors over the assigned cohort(s) and other campus faculty and staff to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of assigned courses. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Hire and Train Faculty/Staff Assess staffing needs Conduct search/advertising Conduct interviews Assess 15-minute teaching demonstrations On-board and orient new faculty and staff (help new faculty/staff get acquainted with the HCI College way and the campus) Mentor program chairs Coordinate and provide faculty training Manage Faculty and Staff Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to faculty Review student evaluations of faculty Conduct annual faculty performance evaluations Identify low performing faculty and work with program chairs to improve performance (enhancement plans) Monitor enhancement plans and review progress Monitor and Maintain Curricula: Monitor program and course performance Assess and monitor program and logistical needs Work with advisory boards and local employers to identify community needs Develop new courses and programs to meet community needs Ensure compliance with accreditation (institutional and program specific accreditations) Manage accreditation process (prepare for regular reviews) Audit academic files for completeness Manage Delivery of Educational Services Enforce academic policies Review incoming students Oversee the registration process Conduct student orientation Monitor course delivery Monitor student retention Ensure grades are posted and transcripts maintained Oversee the library Oversee and Monitor Student Performance Monitor academic progress (Satisfactory Academic Progress Reports - SAP) Monitor attendance Determine. enforce, and monitor probations Determine and enforce disciplinary actions Determine and enforce academic dismissals Approve re-entries Review serious student concerns/complaints Resolve student/faculty disputes Review and Manage Reports Budget (materials, equipment, supplies. and maintenance) Satisfactory Academic Progress Reports (SAP) Last Day Attended reports (LOA) Quarterly campus/business goals - as set from master plan Regular and reliable attendance. Be readily accessible for meetings requested by students, staff, and faculty and “manage by walking around”. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Strong time management skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced professional environment. Attention to detail and dependability. Analysis, judgement, strong planning and organizing skills. Problem solving capabilities. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and managers of the organization. Computer literacy skills including functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) and Campus Vue/Nexus. Ability to produce reports and correspondence. Ability to conduct business with attention to ethical considerations, College policies and procedures, and accreditation guidelines. A willingness to follow high ethical standards. Education/Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent (Required) Minimum of five (5) years of experience at a post-secondary education institution (Preferred) Minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory role (Preferred) Supervisory Responsibilities: Program Directors, support staff, and others at the direction of the Campus President/Director. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands are those required in a typical professional office setting: communicating with coworkers and getting to and from appropriate on and off-campus appointments. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Professional office setting: moderate noise levels and controlled indoor climate.
