Job Title: Counseling Assistant Director and Director of TrainingLocation: Syracuse UniversityPay Range: $85,000 - $95,000Pay rates at Syracuse University are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities; the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key competencies; the university’s strategic priorities; internal peer equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, grant funding and contractual requisites; and external market analyses.Staff Level: S5FLSA Status: ExemptHours: Standard University business hours8:30am – 5:00pm (academic year)8:00am – 4:30pm (summer)Hours may vary based on operational needs.Job Type: Full-timeCampus: Syracuse UniversityJob Description: The Counseling Center Assistant Director and Training Director is a 12-month full-time position that assists in the development and implementation of our mission and vision as well as the day-to-day management of the Counseling Center. The training program consists of an APPIC Pre-Doctoral internship and Syracuse University graduate students from various mental health programs.The specific responsibilities for this position include provision of clinical supervision to trainees, as well as the Behavioral Health Intern training program that the Counseling Center collaboratively manages with Health Services. This position also provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff including the Assistant Training Director. Additionally, maintains a small clinical caseload, and participates in the Counseling Center’s on-call rotation. This position must demonstrate high levels of cultural competency, being well versed at working with students from traditionally underserved and/or underrepresented populations.Qualifications:Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology required.Licensed or license eligible within the state of NY.Five (5) plus years of post-degree experience.Job Specific Qualifications:Experience providing clinical services to culturally diverse client population required.Experience providing clinical supervision.Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in developing training opportunities for graduate student trainees.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Responsibilities:Oversight of the APPIC Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship program and the Syracuse University graduate student training program including policy development.Collaboration with corresponding academic departments and Health and Wellness partners.Trainee recruitment.Supervision of trainees.Oversight of the training committee and supervision of supervision, including oversight of the Behavioral Health intern-training program.Assist in the day-to-day management of the Counseling Center, including provision of clinical and administrative supervision to Counseling Center staff therapists and the Assistant Training Director.Participate on relevant university and departmental committees and/or teams that have the mission of promoting mental health.Provision of mental health services including initial evaluations, individual therapy, and group therapy.Participate in Counseling Center’s on-call rotation.Application Instructions: In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.About Syracuse University: Syracuse University is a private, international research university with distinctive academics, diversely unique offerings, and an undeniable spirit.
