Finance GroupTransocean is focused on being the employer of choice for the drilling industry.We are challenging ourselves every day to push the performance of the company through technological advances and passion for our work.Job SummaryApply the principles of accounting in order to prepare timely and accurate journal entries, financial dashboards, account analysis, allocations, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and reports in compliance with the company’s procedures, US GAAP and related internal controls.The Inventory Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and maintaining inventory data, supporting Operations and Accounting with relevant data and reports, and calculating SLOB – Slow Moving and Obsolescence provisions.Job DescriptionKey Roles & Responsibilities:Reconcile and analyze balance sheet for M&S accounts in order to identify and fix discrepancies between subsystem vs. general ledger (AIM vs. GL).Calculate provisions for SLOB based on analysis of inventory data and company procedures. Ensure accurate reflection of these provisions in financial statements on a quarterly basis.Prepare quarterly M&S Roll forward greenbook report, including a monthly data retrieval and analysis.Prepare inventory and asset transfer’s allocation to appropriate companies and record the associated entries accordingly.Reclassify M&S balances to the current operating/owning companies on a monthly basis for each cost center according to its current status.Maintain communication with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and any other departments as required in order to support Inventory management requirements.Prepare support for audit in accordance with internal controls.Support preparation of annual SLOB provision whitepaper.Recommend improvements to inventory management processes based on data analysis findings.Adhoc requests and analysis as required by manager, supervisor, or functional heads.Education:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Experience:Minimum Required - 5 years in accounting.Preferred Level - 5 to 8 years in accounting and relevant experience in data analysis, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Skills:Minimum Required - Strong in Excel spreadsheets with a solid understanding of general ledger accounting, data analytics, attention to detail, and experience in preparing journal entries, managing asset allocations, and calculating inventory obsolescence provisions.Preferred Level - Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Macros, and BI tools and knowledge of inventory management and accounting principles.Pre-Requisite/Qualification:Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen.Must successfully complete pre-employment background check.
