SUMMARYThe Admissions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the admission process for clients in the RS EDEN Recovery Services programs. Flexibility, effective time management practices, and sound organizational skills are necessary. Must have strong customer service skills, empathy, and the ability to work through crisis situations in a professional, therapeutic, and positive manner. This position includes light lifting and sitting for long periods of time. This position is classified as a category 3 driving position.Pay ranges from $18.00-$21.00 per hourRESPONSIBILITIESUnderstand program elements and levels of care to effectively communicate RS EDEN services to prospective clients and referral partnersMaintain professionalism with prospective clients and referral partnersAssess and reduce pre-admission barriers for clientsUtilize empathy to support clients throughout the pre-admission and admission processEnter new clients into the EHR, upload supporting clinical documentation and complete required electronic forms in a thorough and timely mannerComplete basic screening assessments for withdrawal potential and immediate medical needs and communicate needs with nursing staff and supervisorCollect urinalysis and breathalyzer screeningsUnderstand all program policies and proceduresSearch and inventory client property upon admissionAssess new client immediate needs upon admission and communicate those needs to the clinical teamMaintain and develop positive relationships with referring agencies and collateralsCollect intake statistical and demographic dataMaintain current information regarding both county and HMO referral proceduresParticipate in staff meetings and training as required or directedManage the processing and procurement of funding for all admissions and the collection of documents for incorporation into client files (ensure Rule 25, CPA’s, Service Agreement, HMO paperwork, etc.)Understand and follow vulnerable adult, incident/accident policy and reporting proceduresSafeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA and 42CFR notification statement and standardsSupport the Admissions Supervisor in meeting department goals for census and service deliveryMaintain favorable driving recordMay have opportunities to participate in speaking engagements or public relation opportunitiesPerform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSRequired:2-yr. degree in social services or related field, or equivalent training and experience preferredCurrent Mantoux test (annual requirement thereafter)Must be able to pass applicable favorable criminal history/background checkOne year off correctional supervisionOne year free of any problems associated with substance useValid driver’s licensePreferred:CPR/First Aid trainingExcellent communication and time management skillsFamiliarity with Procentive or other EHR systemsAbility to convey a positive, courteous, and professional imageAbility to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to successJoin a team whose innovative work addresses the complex and intersecting challenges of addiction, homelessness, disability, poverty, and criminal justice involvement.
