Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the Biostatistics & Epidemiology Department for the School of Public Health located in Piscataway, NJ. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist IV is responsible for the management of a small research team, designs and conducts specialized research projects, and assists with supervision of other research technicians and graduate students.Duties include:

Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation related to research activities.Coordinates and tracks study activities including recruitment, quantitative and qualitative data collection, and biological sample collection.Creates, implements, and supervises other staff in conducting research and technical operations in New Jersey and at national study sites, independently or as assigned, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions.Assists with mentorship and supervision of students, fellows, lower-level professionals, and technicians in study procedures, instrumentation, etc. to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions.Compiles appropriate reference materials and resources to develop online resources for cancer prevention in specific populations.Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations pertinent to research activity.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Master’s Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science with one (1) year of related research experience (with Bachelor’s Degree).Experience with Statistical Computing Programs (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS); Electronic data collection platforms (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics); CITI Human Subjects Research Certification; Biosafety/Bloodborne Pathogens Lab Safety Training.Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science.Required One (1) year of related research experience (with Bachelor’s Degree).Position Information
