GroomingPosition Summary:
Grooming ski slopes and freestyle terrain. Reporting snow levels and conditions. Daily record keeping of grooming areas and vehicles.Job Relationships:Responsible To: Guests, Grooming Director, Maintenance Director, Director of Skiing & Snowboarding, and the General Manager.Employees Supervised: NoneInter-Relationships: Work closely with the General Manager, Marketing Department, Director of Skiing & Snowboarding and Ski Patrol to better serve our guests.Duties and Responsibilities:Daily grooming of ski slopes and freestyle terrainRemoving snow from paths and tracksTransporting people and freightProviding motive traction for riggingDaily record keeping using the Operator Check List and Groomer Operator LogReport snow levels and conditions to the Marketing Department, including New Snow Total and Character, Temperature, Wind Speed and Direction, Precipitation, and Sky Cover.Monitor the function of grooming vehicles and equipmentNotify the Snow Plow Driver if the drive or the parking lots need plowed.Keep grooming vehicles clean.Additional duties may be assigned.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Driver’s License.Groomer Training and familiarity with the characteristics of the snow and operating on the snow.Relate in a positive manner to co-workers and guests.Environmental Factors:Sitting for extended periods of time.Frequent lifting of items weighing 60 pounds or more.Exposure to cold temperatures and severe weather while performing duties.Exposure to possible hazards associated with machinery and moving equipment.Values Implementation:Always responds to guests’ needs.Seeks ways to improve guest service.Take pride in knowing that 49° North is a quality ski area--The most affordable, friendly, family ski area in the region.
