POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Procurement Manager's job is to provide internal customers with the highest quality support and timely delivery of materials by overseeing all negotiations with vendors, domestic and international, for the purchase of all materials, supplies, and equipment used by our company. They will ensure timely delivery of materials to the Operations Team to eliminate downtime and increase time delivery to our customers.

This role will lead the Purchasing team and foster positive relationships with our employees by providing clear communication, mentorship, clear direction, proactive thinking, and a high sense of accountability to ensure integrity in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDC-P). They will be goal driven with the ability to identify and successfully achieve departmental goals that align with the company vision and direction. As a member of the leadership team, they will maintain a scorecard to track metrics (KPS) for the Purchasing department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strong, positive leadership to the Purchasing team that maximizes the company's operations, efficiencies, and safety objectives.Understand/achieve specific company targets. Must have capacity to plan and benchmark success.Collaborate with team members to identify goals that align with company vision and direction. Then create and communicate clear direction and path to success for entire team.Lead by example and work with the team to better understand their role and exhibit our “I can” core value. Will provide coverage as needed for day-to-day operations.Communicate with leaders and their departments to ensure all team members are clear on expectations and eliminating inefficiencies to improve workflows and ensure outstanding results.Procure, maintain and empower international vendor relationships to get best price, quality and shipment timelines that coordinate with our product mix needs.Identify new vendors and new regions to source international materials and build relationships, building trust with our vendors.Build metrics and department scorecard to show goals, cost savings, and year over year improvements. Build executive monthly summary of wins/losses.Lean mindset - Work with Continuous Improvement Manager and Purchasing team to identify ways to reduce waste, inventory, overproduction, and increase VMI partnerships.Growth mindset – Identify efficient and innovative ways to overcome challenges of tomorrow.Resolve time-sensitive material requests by leveraging multiple sources to procure material using the most cost-effective methods and achieve dual sourcing goals for key products.Work with sales and operations to develop and maintain sales forecasts to ensure the availability of raw materials then manage inventory levels through all purchasing cycles to ensure timely availability.Establish and maintain documented processes for the department.Actively participate in Purchasing conferences, peer groups, and/or trade organizations for your professional development and the benefit of the company.Ability to travel for vendor meetings, this includes domestic and international locations.Complete at least 32 hours of Professional Development training (peer groups, books, conferences) per year.Up to 10% Travel Requirement to new/existing vendors. Current locations are in Eastern Asia.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

Bachelor of Science degree required in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Business Management or equivalent work history.Must have leadership experience.5+ years of purchasing work experience.2+ years of international sourcing experience.Lean Training strongly preferred.EOS experience a plus.Strong team building, people management, and decision-making skills.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and other similar software.Ability to implement and maintain a continuous improvement culture.SOFT SKILLS / ABILITIES

Team player with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Strong technology skills to advance MRP system.Proven leadership skills.Must be a Change Agent. Be open and flexible to changing priorities and processes.Proven ability to forecast using historical usage patterns with fluctuating data.Able to create and execute plans, emphasis in meeting deadlines.Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.Comfort and ability to be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat and cold.
