Lists of eligible candidates will be established and hiring may occur early in the recruiting process.The Position:Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is based at Southern Desert Correctional Center in Indian Springs, NV. The incumbent is responsible for management of various operational systems; checks systems, monitor and/or adjust a computerized energy management system; adjusts combustion and safety controls; adjust pressure and temperature gauges; take water samples and analyze chemical properties of feed water; prevent water deposits and sludge build-up. Preventative maintenance includes lubricating motors and fans, replacing drive belts, and cleaning equipment and surrounding areas to promote safety and efficiency. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.The Examination:The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
