IT Product Owner

Responsibilities:

Take the lead of scrum teams as the Product Owner; provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders.

Define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities.

Work closely with the business to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI.

Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product and ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories for a minimum of two sprints.

Accept or reject development work at the end of a sprint, and determine if an item is "done" and successfully delivered.

Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.

Lead the sprint planning, product release plans, and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities.

Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.

Answer questions from the development team to help clarify any details as they are developing the application.

Provide an active role in mitigating impediments influencing successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.

Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product.

Coordinate communication with all areas of IT and business.

Ensure all internal controls and policies have adhered and systems change management; keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or foreign equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience in Product Manager or related position, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or foreign equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience in Product Manager or related position.

Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban and supporting tools.

Experience in the IT industry.

Experience with JIRA.

Experience with Microsoft Visio and Project.

Experience with delivery of software development projects within either technology services or software product company.

Experience with Figma and Invision.

Experience with UI/UX design.

Experience with various software engineering and QA methodologies.

Experience with product management- ideation to delivery of a product/application.

Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
