Position Focus:Under the director of the Program Director and Senior Director of Finance and Administration for Dermatology, the Manager of Clinical Operations provides leadership and oversight of the clinical Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and Aesthetic Dermatology Program for the Department of Dermatology with respect to program/service development and standard workflows of this growing clinical section. This position will lead, oversee, and coordinate onsite clinical, and administrative teams to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care. The Manager develops, implements, and monitors programs, policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of patient care and satisfaction through operational efficiency, best utilization, and productivity of staff.

Essential Duties

Evaluates the effectiveness of clinical operational procedures and recommends changes to facilitate the highest level of patient service and access.

Monitors and analyzes monthly clinical statistics and key productivity and patient satisfaction indicators.

Monitors and enforces compliance with existing policies and procedures, Practice Standards, HIPAA regulations.

Oversees the monitoring and enforcing of customer service standards for staff members.

Oversees clinical operations of section by ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and ongoing education.

Directly monitors patient throughput in real time to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and safety.

Works with clinical leadership on matters relating to practice performance and clinical issues.

Researches and develops proposals for internal and external program initiatives.

Streamlines communications between EMR, team, physicians, and clinical staff.

Monitors clinician work schedule assignments for best utilization of space and productivity.

Represents area with regard to facility concerns, maintenance and security.

Keeps current in clinical management and process improvement concepts.

Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in relevant field and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills/Abilities

Practice management background with proven expertise and excellent communication skills.

Ability to make reasonable and difficult decisions while under pressure.

Ability to assess and resolve or escalate problems arising.

Ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture.

Proven ability to work within an organizational hierarchy.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:Bachelor's Degree and three years of management experience. Epic trained. Experience managing in an ambulatory clinical practice.
