Position Overview:

Directing the IT PMO, this pivotal role involves setting and enforcing project management standards and methodologies to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of IT and business technology projects. The PMO Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of complex digital transformation, business process improvement, and cross-functional IT projects that span the organization's global operations, including three manufacturing sites in the US and Germany. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and maintaining alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives. The PMO Lead acts as a central point of communication, facilitating collaboration among diverse teams and stakeholders across US, LATAM, EMEA, and APAC regions to ensure projects meet strategic goals and deliver value. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and developing project management capabilities within the team, optimizing project delivery frameworks, and integrating emerging technologies and practices to enhance project outcomes and organizational agility.

Position Responsibilities:

Establish PMO Standards and Practices : Develop and implement project management standards, processes, and methodologies to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.

Strategic Planning : Align the PMO strategy with the organization's overall business goals, facilitating effective planning and execution of IT and digital transformation projects.

Project Delivery : Oversee the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure of complex IT and business technology projects across the organization, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget and within scope.

Resource Management : Work with IT team managers to allocate and manage resources effectively, ensuring optimal deployment across projects to meet deliverable timelines and budget constraints.

Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the primary liaison between IT, business units, and executive management to ensure project goals are aligned with business objectives and stakeholder expectations are met.

Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project execution to minimize impact on the timelines and quality of deliverables.

Performance Measurement : Implement performance metrics and monitoring systems to evaluate project success and the overall effectiveness of the PMO.

Quality Assurance : Enforce quality standards in all project deliverables, conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.

Change Management : Lead change management initiatives, ensuring that changes introduced by projects are smoothly implemented and well-received across the organization.

Training and Development : Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project management skills within the IT organization, raising the competency of team members.

Communication Strategy : Design and execute a communication strategy that keeps all stakeholders informed of project progress and issues, fostering transparency and collaboration.

Budget Oversight : Manage the budget for the PMO, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently and projects remain within financial constraints.

Vendor and Contract Management : Oversee vendor relationships and manage contracts related to project resources, software, and other services necessary for project execution.

Continuous Improvement : Continuously assess the effectiveness of PMO processes and make improvements to enhance productivity and responsiveness to business needs.

Global Coordination : Coordinate project activities across multiple geographic locations, including the US and Germany, ensuring that projects adhere to local regulations and cultural expectations while maintaining global standards.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Project Management, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or certifications in Agile methodologies.

Professional Experience:

Extensive experience in project management, specifically in IT and cross-functional projects within a global setting.

Proven track record of leading a PMO or similar function, with experience in implementing and overseeing large-scale IT and digital transformation projects.

Experience in the medical device industry is highly beneficial, given the specific regulatory and compliance demands.
