What you will do

As part of the Performance apparel design team, you will be a senior designer for the Performance active apparel range. You will drive the design vision and seasonal execution for both Women’s and Men’s Performance active product, with a specific focus on sports bras, leggings, active tops, bottoms and shorts. You will push the design direction and product execution to make The North Face performance active product best-in-class. Progressive design combined with athlete inspired problem-solving across all price tiers of product.How You Will Make a Difference:

Understand the needs of both active customer and athlete need to inform better product design solutions.Be up-to-date and familiar with active market trends and key competitor product.Create seasonal trend and technical research from a Global market point-of-view.Build mood boards, silhouette and construction research in-line with the seasonal direction and present your work to leadership and cross-functional apparel teams.Influence your peers to drive design-intent all the way through to final execution and launch.Partner with your Product Management peers to ensure briefs are clear and key ‘problem to solve’ is identified.Create new product designs that answer the brief and consider; the problem-to-solve, target price, needs of the consumer, TNF design DNA.Work with broader Performance design team to create and present seasonal design presentations.Partner with materials team to ensure new fabric developments are clearly briefed and the needs of the material performance is clear.Create tech-packs of all new styles to ensure clear communication of design intent, construction execution and fit intent.Upload all necessary design files into Enovia PLM system.Partner with the Creative Services team to inform color, print and graphic direction for your collection each season.Attend fittings and ensure that quality, design intent and perfect fit are maintained through to SMS.Have a relationship with your design partners in APAC and EMEA to ensure a Global perspective.Take on ad-hoc projects or other responsibilities as appropriate.What You Will Bring:

A relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.5+ years of experience in performance apparel design.Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite especially Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.Experience in 3D software such as Browzwear or Clo.Strong product acumen with working knowledge of apparel product development processes, including design, development, sourcing and manufacturing (Innovation, TD, PM, Design).Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to manage multiple timelines and deadlines.Proactive approach to identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with a values driven commitment to do what is right.High degree of agility and adaptability.Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and problem-solving.Passion for your work equal to your passion for getting outside and living it.Free to Be, Inclusion & Diversity

$93,312.00 USD - $139,968.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential:

This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
