Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader to join our dynamic team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our casual dining restaurant during your assigned shift. You will work closely with our management team to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive work environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for the food industry, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise kitchen and dining staff during your assigned shift
Ensure that all kitchen operations are running efficiently, and that food is prepared to the highest standards
Monitor cash handling and restaurant finances, and report any discrepancies to management
Provide guidance and support to staff members, focusing on teamwork and customer satisfaction
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area
Implement hospitality management strategies to drive sales and improve customer loyalty
Collaborate with the restaurant management team to achieve business objectives
Manage kitchen inventory and ensure that orders are accurate and timely
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
Maintain a positive and respectful work environment, and ensure that all staff members are following company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Previous experience in the food industry, preferably in a casual dining restaurant
Proven leadership and supervising skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively
Strong understanding of food management and kitchen operations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience with cash handling and restaurant finances
Knowledge of hospitality management principles and practices
Ability to work in a dynamic and stressful environment
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality management or a related field is an asset.
