Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation:

Starting rate of $21.00, adjusted based on experience.

Benefits:

Full-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:The Mountain Sports Team Leader is responsible for managing the staff of the Mountain Sports School, including hiring, training, and daily supervision. This role ensures the smooth operation of the school's programs, coordinates class assignments, monitors on-hill instruction, and collaborates on terrain management. The Team Leader also engages with students and parents to provide program information, assess student progress, and offer further instruction guidance. Acting as a role model for instructors, this position requires strong skiing or snowboarding skills, excellent teaching abilities, and a commitment to delivering superior customer service.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Provide overall support to the Mountain Sports School

Assist with and help coordinate daily line-ups and organization of classes

Assist with daily class assignments, involving scheduling of instructors; observation of student Snow Sports levels during Snow Sports off and on-hill instruction

Monitor on-hill instruction on a regular basis

Monitor snow conditions and grooming needs. Collaborate on terrain sculpting and terrain use needs

Plan and participate in the administration of the Snow Sports School including hiring, scheduling, payroll processing, and safety training

Deal regularly with guests, including current and potential students, and parents of students in programs: provide information on Snow Sports School programs; assess progress; advise in further instructions

Serve as a role model for Instructors through the constant pursuit of excellence in Snow Sports School philosophies and skiing and riding skills

Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow the Resort Hospitality Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner

Perform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

One to two+ years related job experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill are acquired

Excellent skiing/snowboarding ability level and technical knowledge in the field

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to teach others how to teach

Ability to evaluate student levels and potentials

Good planning, administrative, and supervisory skills

Ability to deal effectively with customers and parents, as well as other company personnel/departments

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

Able to lift up to 50 lb
