PMU, in compliance with civil service laws, rules, and policies, is responsible for all performance management and progressive discipline functions for both CARB and the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA).CARB has adopted a hybrid telework environment for employees who can perform their essential work functions remotely.Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. The amount of telework is at the agency's discretion and is based on CARB's current telework policy. In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:Experience providing consultative guidance to managers, supervisors, and executives on a variety of performance and/or conduct related matters.Knowledge of the State’s progressive discipline processes.Experience in Progressive Discipline, Labor Relations, and/or Classification & Pay.Ability to exercise initiative, handle multiple and/or changing priorities and deadlines while working independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment.Experience independently preparing correspondence and memoranda.Experience developing policy and procedural documents.Experience developing and presenting training material to a group.Knowledge of California Department of Human Resources, State Personnel Board, and State Controller’s Office laws, rules, and regulations.Contact Information
