Job Summary:We are looking for a Packaging Manager to join the dynamic production team at Jackalope Brewing Company! The Packaging Manager is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of our canning line, as well as managing the packaging schedule, kegging, and overseeing inventory of our packaged beverages. This position works closely with the rest of the production and management team to ensure the highest quality output.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain the canning line for optimal quality.Schedule and train Canning Assistants as needed for canning runs.Troubleshoot issues in an organized manner and communicate with manufacturer/consultants as needed.Perform laboratory work, such as testing CO2 and 02 levels, as well as plating samples and testing gravities.Communicate with vendors on equipment and supply needs.Provide operations management timely and thorough information on all irregular or critical situations.Take inventory of packaged goods and input information into our management system (Ekos).Operate a forklift (training available onsite).Assist in other aspects of packaging, such as kegging and organizing the walk-in cooler.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Other duties and tasks that may be necessary.
Qualifications/Skills
High School Diploma required2+ years experience working with technical/mechanical equipment required, experience operating rotary canning lines a plusFormal education in brewing/engineering/equipment maintenance is a plusComputer literacyAble to lift up to 60 lbs, and move up to 160 lbs using the appropriate equipmentStrong communication and organizational prowess with the ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and desire to learn new skills
