and enjoy collaborating with a smooth-running team led by supportive management who wants you to succeed and grow!You'll provide professional-level consultation to management and employees on various sensitive and complex human resource subjects including employee appointments, classification, compensation, benefits, hiring, reasonable accommodations, layoff/reversion processes, and protected leave. You'll support staff at

Rainier School , a Residential Habilitation Center.This job has a telework schedule, generally 3 days per week of telework and the rest in-office work.Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.Some of what you'll do

Guide personnel/payroll actions, adhering to the Washington Administrative Codes, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and DSHS Administrative Policies, Practices, and Procedures.Consult and process all incoming and outgoing paperwork for employees; provide appointment letters, New Employee onboarding, maintenance, and off-boarding of staff.Partner with our Classification and Compensation Unit, Labor Relations Unit, our Layoff/Reversions Specialist, Reasonable Accommodations Unit, and Public Records and Discovery Unit and provide guidance to supervisors.Consult on classification issues and work with managers and supervisors regarding the development of position descriptions.Provide information to affected employees to help them understand their rights and responsibilities under protected leave laws, and calculate eligibility and qualification for leave; explain information to assist employees in completing forms.Conduct training individually or in a group setting, on many HR topics.Who should apply?

Professionals with a bachelor's degree focused on business, human resources, social or behavioral sciences, or a related field and one year of professional human resource experience. (Additional experience will substitute year for year for the degree.)Desired

Ability to build customer relationships and provide superior customer service; exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Working knowledge of HR-related federal and state laws.Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks.Ability to meet deadlines while working with constant interruptions.Ability to critically analyze problems/data, and develop viable solutions.Ability to effectively deliver HR training.Interested?
