The Team Leader will oversee the Eastern region of the District 7 Traffic Section. This position manages and supervises two Area Traffic Engineers and one Work Zone Traffic Control Inspector by providing higher-level guidance, mentorship, and managerial approval. The Team Leader independently performs the uppermost managerial duties in the areas outlined herein over that respective region. This position often works directly with the District Engineer to manage a broad spectrum of complex, controversial, and sensitive traffic management issues in urban and rural settings. The Team Leader also completely fulfills the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant District Engineer for the Traffic Section in his absence.

The Metropolitan District 7 Traffic Division has authority in every aspect of transportation-related engineering within our district. The objective of the District Traffic Office is to investigate, implement, review, and coordinate traffic control and safety enhancements along state highways in Carroll, Howard, and Frederick Counties. This includes major construction and private development projects, utility work, maintenance projects, planning, design projects, and emergency operations. .MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.Experience:

Eight (8) years of experience in professional engineering, including one (1) year of supervisory or consultant management experience.Selective Qualification:

Three (3) years of the professional engineering experience must have been in traffic engineering.Notes:1. Additional work experience in professional engineering, or in technical engineering at the journey level or above, may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.2. Possession of a master's degree in engineering may be substituted for one year of the non-supervisory experience.3. Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the state of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements. Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in state of Maryland.TO APPLY:
