JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, including proper classification of revenues and expenses and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, assisting in the development of appropriate financial controls, and monitoring compliance with financial policies and procedures, as well as performs other related work related to the accounting function.

JOB FUNCTIONS:Responsible for financial statement preparation, including budget to actual, trend, and comparative reporting.Ensures that reporting is accurate, timely and communication around the financial statements is clear and concise.Manages general ledger, including appropriate posting of transactions and journal entries.Ensure financial policies and procedures and internal controls are in place to ensure that assets are protected and that all financial transactions are recorded appropriately, accurately, and timely.Manages the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.Ensure financial and accounting records are complete and accurate and financial reports are prepared in accordance with GAAP.Ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met with all applicable agencies, including internal and external auditors. Prepares appropriate schedules and appropriately answers all questions related to financial statements.Manages general accounting systems ensuring appropriate security and confidentiality of data and financial information.Completes reporting to various government agencies and outside auditors as required to meet requirements and coordinates information with other departments and finance staff.Oversees cash management activities, including day-to-day treasury operations.Ensures appropriate training for accounting staff to maintain competencies.Responsible for managing the Purchasing and Accounts Payable processes.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, master's degree preferred.Experience:

Minimum 5+ years' progressive accounting experience, healthcare experience preferred.Audit (internal of external) experience.Certified Public Accountant preferred, will consider equivalent work experience.PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of all accounting functions required, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.Strong financial background with comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, practices and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required.Knowledge of accounting practices to understand and interpret various accounting systems.Working knowledge of computerized general ledger accounting software programs.High level proficiency in Excel and Word applications; working knowledge of PowerPoint software preferred.Skills:

Position is in a well-lighted office environment.Physical Requirements:

Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder. Some bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 pounds.Safety:

$120,000 - $155,000 / Yearly
