High-impact role taking ownership of our Cost Accounting function in our Chelmsford factory.

Job Details:

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. The Plant Controller will be responsible for the overall financial management and coordination of plant operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment, operations finance, accounting, audit, financial planning, inventory, and plant accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
2. Advanced degree in Accounting.
3. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Proven experience in the manufacturing industry with a solid understanding of operations finance, plant accounting, and inventory management.
9. Proficiency in ERP and Oracle systems.
10. Strong understanding of financial planning and forecasting.
11. Ability to conduct thorough financial audits and implement internal controls.
12. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
14. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
15. Proven leadership skills with the ability to make strategic decisions.
