Assistant Professor in Statistics, Department of Mathematical Sciences [R0140846] .ROLE of the POSITIONThe successful candidate is expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, publish in refereed research journals, pursue external funding, and supervise graduate students. In addition, the candidate is expected to provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring students from different backgrounds with diverse life experiences and learning styles.A tenure-track position in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, specializing in Statistics or closely related areas, commencing Fall 2024.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires a Ph.D. in Statistics or Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences with demonstrated expertise in Statistics from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to candidates who demonstrate commitment to excellence in both teaching and scholarly activities in the frontiers of statistics.COMMITMENT to DIVERSITYThe successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity and inclusiveness as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment.SALARY RANGESalary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
