Assistant Professor-in-Residence, College of Sciences [R0144416] .

ROLE of the POSITION

The duties for this non-tenure-track academic faculty position primarily focus on College of Sciences teaching needs for online and/or hybrid introductory biology courses containing laboratories. The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours or the equivalent each semester. All candidates need to demonstrate a commitment to innovative and evidence-based instruction methods for a diverse student population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires a

Ph.D.

or equivalent degree with a preferred specialization in a life science related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). They should also have experience developing general science curricula.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will have experience designing and developing online or virtual-reality courses with a laboratory component, a strong understanding of student-centered instructional practices, and familiarity with open-source STEM curriculum resources.
