The Corporate Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, providing assurance, and offering support in safety, health, and environmental practices across all operating companies (Phillips & Jordan, RowCon, and NFS). Based at our San Antonio, FL regional office, this role reports directly to the Corporate Director of Safety and collaborates closely with safety leads, field professionals, project teams, and senior leadership to ensure alignment with our corporate EH&S Program Manual and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend availability as needed. Extensive travel is required for this position.Primary Responsibilities

Conduct Field Assessments and Audits:

Ensure compliance with the Corporate EH&S Program Manual, as well as local, state, and federal regulations, and project or client-specific requirements. Collaborate with project teams to address and resolve identified hazards.Generate Reports and Follow Up:

Document findings from audits and ensure timely follow-up to implement corrective actions, effectively mitigating identified risks.Participate in Incident Investigations:

Engage in investigations of actual or potential Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) incidents and other safety incidents as determined by corporate safety.Review Root Cause Analysis and Incident Reports:

Provide insights into incident causation and recommend improvements, including changes to programs and procedures.Coordinate Industrial Hygiene Sampling:

Oversee, schedule, and review results for Industrial Hygiene sampling as required to ensure health and safety standards are met.Assist in Client Pre-Qualifications:

Support client pre-qualification processes, including Avetta, ISNet, and other systems. Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings to align safety requirements.Support EH&S Policy Development:

Serve as a resource for developing corporate EH&S policies and procedures, contributing to the continuous improvement of safety programs.Manage Corporate Safety Accounts:

Oversee and maintain corporate safety platforms, such as safetyreports.com, MSDS online, and other related systems.Manage EPA Tier II Reporting:

Ensure compliance with EPA Tier II reporting requirements, including accurate documentation and timely submission of necessary reports to regulatory agencies.Identify Program Improvements:

Evaluate the EH&S Program Manual and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements to enhance safety practices.Other Duties:

Perform additional tasks as assigned by PIH Corporate Safety & Risk.Education/Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or similar field is required.Minimum of 8 years of safety experience in the construction industry.CHST certification. If not currently held, obtaining this certification within a specified timeframe after hire will be required.ORMinimum of 10 years of safety experience in the construction industry.SMS certification or higher BCSP credential. If not currently held, obtaining these certifications within a specified timeframe after hire will be required.Requirements

Industry Expertise:

Extensive experience in construction safety, particularly in heavy civil and power delivery construction activities.Regulatory Knowledge:

Working knowledge of applicable regulations, including OSHA 1926 standards for construction, and MSHA Part 46 Surface Mine regulations.Location:

Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the San Antonio, FL area, or be based within a reasonable travel distance.Travel Requirement:

Extensive travel is required (approximately 60-75%) across multiple project sites throughout the state of Florida.Skills:

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with excellent attention to detail, organization, and prioritization abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and safety management software is preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
