Social WorkThe Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for spring 2025 to teach MSW 653: Advanced Social Work Practice in Schools II. The course is a 3-unit class, has one 3-hour class each week of the 15-week semester, and is taught in a 100% online format (however, applicants must perform the work required for this class in the state of California).Course Description:

Addresses the specific knowledge and skills required for advanced social work practice in a school setting. Examines roles, responsibilities and the functions of a social worker in educational settings to promote well-being and system change. Emphasizes meeting the needs of diverse student populations and families from a macro-practice perspective. Course content is designed to meet and exceed the Pupil Personnel Services Credential Program Standards set forth by the State of California.Minimum Qualifications:Master of Social Work degreePPS credentials in School Social Work and Child Welfare and AttendanceExtensive experience (4 years or more) as a school social workerExperience in supervising students in the school settingKnowledge of related state regulationsWorking within the State of California is a condition of employment.Preferred qualifications:Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Experience with child welfare servicesExperience in teaching university classes and with instructional technology.Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.Salary:

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
