We are currently hiring a Senior Development Director based in Oakland, CA. The Director will generate revenue for our

Heart Challenge Campaign . This campaign includes our signature Heart Walk event.We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay, based on achieving certain revenue targets.The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. Be Valued at the American Heart Association by following us on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and at heart.jobs.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate the American Heart Association leadership competencies and employ effective management techniques in the sourcing, recruitment, selection, supervision, management, and leadership of staff.Manage and implement the Heart Challenge campaign through driving to Association best practices, ensuring accountability for revenue goals aligned with funding research, public health, professional education, and community services.Identify, recruit, engage, and activate a diverse volunteer leadership base to support sustained campaign growth.Prospect, solicit, close, and steward high-level corporate and individual donors, developing year-round cultivation plans for superior donor relations.Provide staff support in planning, developing, implementing, growing, and evaluating campaigns and events consistent with best practices.Collaborate with Division, Region, and Association-wide teams to ensure alignment with vision and goals.Ensure team operates within appropriate operational and financial boundaries, adhering to the Association's Fiscal Standard policies and applicable laws.Communicate proactively with Senior VP, Executive Director, and other partners, delivering on commitments made to internal and external customers.Qualifications5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent.Strong initiative to effectively prospect and secure new business with a donor-centric approach.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.Ability to travel locally and access reliable transportation.Ability to lift/move large objects, with the expectation of requesting assistance for heavier items.Preferred Experience:University/College degree or equivalent experience.Experience managing high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.Knowledge of corporate and community networks.Compensation

– Expected pay range is $86,900 to $104,310, commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply.Benefits
