We are currently hiring a Senior Development Director based in Oakland, CA. The Director will generate revenue for our

Heart Challenge Campaign . This campaign includes our signature Heart Walk event.We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. To help you be successful, you will have access to Heart U, our award-winning corporate university, as well as additional training and support, locally.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate the American Heart Association leadership competencies and employ effective management techniques in the sourcing, recruitment, selection, supervision, management, and leadership of staff (direct and/or indirect reports) to appropriately develop and engage staff to achieve organizational objectives.Manage and implement the Heart Challenge campaign through driving to Association best practices. Directly accountable for achieving revenue goals aligned with funding research, public health, professional education and training, and community services.Drive the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting, engaging, and activating an influential, financially strong, and diverse volunteer leadership base to support sustained campaign growth.Prospect, solicit, close, and steward high-level corporate and individual donors. Develop and implement year-round cultivation plans ensuring superior donor relations.Provide staff support in planning, developing, implementing, growing, and evaluating campaigns and events consistent with best practices and event timelines.Collaborate as part of the Division, Region, and Association-wide team to ensure full alignment with vision and goals and provide consistent support in all aspects of fundraising and other assigned organizational initiatives.Ensure that the team operates within appropriate operational and financial boundaries and within the financial capacity available.Communicate proactively and timely with Senior VP, Executive Director, and other internal and external partners.Qualifications5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.Strong initiative to effectively prospect and secure new business with a reputation for donor-centric results.Basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office.Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking:University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred.Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.Knowledge of corporate and community networks.The expected pay range will be $86,900 to $104,310. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
