Assistant Professor in Structural EngineeringThe University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction, College of Engineering [R0144418].ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction (CEEC) of the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in structural engineering commencing Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous and sustainable funded research program in his or her area of expertise, supervise graduate students, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their expertise area related to structural engineering, and participate in service to the Department, College, University, and profession.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date. Applicants from all areas of structural engineering will be considered.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with a background in one or more of the following areas will receive special consideration: innovations in structural steel systems, hazard-resilient structures and infrastructure, application of innovative materials for resilient and/or sustainable structures, decision making through data science applications for structural systems. Applicants with expertise in both computational/analytical and experimental research are preferred. Applicants who have a Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time period are preferred.BENEFITS OF WORKING AT UNLV
