has an immediate need for a full-time Habitability Mechanical/ Technician with AC&R background in San Diego, CA.Position Overview:

The technician will provide maintenance and technical support on shipboard habitability mechanical galley and laundry equipment, and associated equipment. The role involves working under limited supervision.Roles and Responsibilities:Perform mechanical repairs and testing onboard ships and in the shop, including:

Removal, repairs, overhaul, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, modification, and testing of mechanical systems and components.Galley and food service equipmentFood service refrigeration equipmentFood preparation equipmentFood service dishwashers and garbage grindersAqueous Potassium Carbonate (APC) fire-fighting systemGaylord systemLaundry equipmentFan coil units/assemblies

Follow guidelines and procedures in Formal Work Packages; read, interpret, and work to the requirements of NSTM 516 (latest revision), appropriate technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints.Utilize shop and shipboard equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, electrical circuit tracers, electrical meggers, vacuum pumps, refrigerant recovery units, refrigerant leak detectors, refrigerant scales, gauge manifolds, hydrostatic test rigs, and electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.Qualifications:Ability to use technical documents (JFMM, Instructions, NSTM's, Military standards, Test memos, Test Standards, Drawings, and Technical Manuals) required to accomplish work.Must have experience working on relevant food service equipment.Desired Qualifications:Prior US Navy shipboard electrician or shipboard mechanic with a background of auxiliary equipment.Security Requirements:Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations.Travel Requirements:Occasional travel- less than 10%Physical Requirements:Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet.Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Communicating with others to exchange information.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.Valkyrie strictly adheres to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
