September 12, 2024The College of Nursing, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and NCI-designated Hollings Cancer Center are seeking applicants of exceptional potential and emerging scholarship for the position of Senior Scholar. The successful candidate will be appointed as a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor, depending upon experience and qualifications. Candidates from backgrounds underrepresented in nursing, medicine, and/or science are strongly encouraged to apply.
Job DescriptionAs a major research university, we are well positioned to support faculty candidates who have strong or developing programs of research in areas of adult oncology, cancer survivorship, and cancer care delivery and outcomes. Preference will be given to applicants with active research that aligns with the position, and consideration will be given to applicants with projects of research within the last 5 years that align with the position. Research is encouraged to focus on the cancer center’s catchment area, which features a high proportion of patients who are racially and ethnically diverse, rural, and medically underserved. This faculty appointment would include mentorship of junior faculty and students and emphasize relationship building with our community of investigators to progress programs of research consistent with the college and cancer center missions.
