PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Concord facility is an integral part of the Composites Solution Business Glass Reinforcements Model. It delivers a key component to Composites facilities. Concord is a non-union facility and is committed to the principles of positive management leadership as essential to our ongoing success. Sustainability is important to our plant and community. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead is a key player in the commitment to our safe work culture.

The EHS Lead is responsible for the execution and evaluation of critical processes, programs, and procedures relative to achieving plant goals and objectives related to the Environment, Occupational Health, Regulatory Law, Safety, and Security for the Concord site. This location is an important piece of the Owens Corning Composites business strategy. The individual in this role will also have the opportunity to gain experience in other functions to help accelerate career growth in EHS or other functions within the business.

The position reports to the Plant Leader with dotted line reporting responsibilities to the Regional EH&S Leader. The EHS Lead is an individual contributor with influential leadership through TPM and various plant teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESLive the safety stand, model safety responsibilities, enhance the safety culture.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Adhere to, and continuously improve upon, all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards.

Coordinate application, maintenance, compliance, and retention of facility regulatory permits and fees.

Ensure proper environmental, health, and safety training, awareness, and communications to all employees.

Provide guidance, support, and change leadership for environmental / regulatory, health, and safety objectives.

Maintain compliance to all local, state, federal and Owens Corning environmental standards and processes.

Champion the site environmental, regulatory, health, and safety management systems.

Analyze and design programs to advance the facility environmental, regulatory, health, and safety impacts.

Ensure all site data, and requests are submitted timely through our enterprise sustainability organization.

Drive Serious Injury or Fatality (SIF) prevention activities.

Perform routine inspections related to all applicable aspects of environmental, health and safety.

Lead, coach, and solicit input from team members to drive successful execution of facility and team goals and enhanced team member engagement / job satisfaction.

Issue corrective action and implement performance improvement plans, as needed to address safety risks.

Facilitate / coordinate training, as needed.

Design and communicate clear and measurable performance expectations, complete performance reviews, and execute growth, development, and engagement plans.

Support in coordinating Industrial Hygiene surveys.

Guide incident investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Ability to take direction and influence others for action and alignment to realize business objectives.

Other business-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTSExperience:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Reg Law, or related field is required.

2+ years of demonstrated experience in the EHS field; in manufacturing preferred.

CSP, CHMM, or related certification preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Strong leadership skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to initiate action and lead team activities.

Extensive knowledge of legal / regulatory requirements related to environment, health, and safety.

Strong listening and comprehension skills.

Competent in data analytics for safety and environmental metrics, and a strategic thinker that can establish goals and actions needed to achieve.
