The College of Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head.The position is expected to initiate new funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the College of Engineering, and beyond. The position is also expected to perform duties related to teaching, student advising, advancing appropriate research and other scholarly activities, and service activities. As a Professor of Practice, the position is expected to initiate, grow and/or sustain external collaborations with other universities, government agencies, the private sector, and other sectors in order to advance university research and education goals.The OSU College of Engineering has committed to being recognized as a national model of inclusivity and collaboration. Minimum/Required Qualifications for all ranks (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice):PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other related discipline prior to position start date.5 years’ experience in the semiconductor or related industry.Demonstrated ability or significant potential for independently developing and sustaining external collaborations.Demonstrated ability or significant potential for leading and collaborating in innovative research.Demonstrated ability or significant potential for excellent teaching and/or mentoring.Demonstrated ability or significant potential for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.Proven oral and written communication skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment for faculty, staff, and students.Minimum/Required Qualifications at the ranks of Associate or Full Professor of Practice:15 years’ experience in the semiconductor or related industry.Demonstrated ability for independently developing and sustaining external collaborations.Demonstrated ability to provide inspiration and leadership in research.Demonstrated ability for excellent teaching and/or mentoring.Demonstrated ability for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.What We Would Like You to HavePreferred Qualifications at the level of Assistant Professor of Practice:Experience or significant potential for developing and writing competitive grant and/or contract proposals for research/development funding.Preferred Qualifications at the rank of Associate or Full Professor of Practice:Experience developing and writing competitive grant and/or contract proposals for research/development funding.Working Conditions / Work Schedule
