Chief Welding Inspector - Pump Station Experience
Job Overview: We're seeking an experienced Chief Welding Inspector to oversee welding operations, with a focus on liquid pipeline and storage systems. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with industry standards, manage inspection teams, and maintain quality control throughout welding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate welding inspection activities
Develop and implement welding inspection procedures
Interpret and enforce welding codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, AWS)
Specialize in liquid pipeline and storage tank welding inspections
Review and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR)
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors
Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare detailed reports
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of welding inspection experience, with at least 5 years in liquids-related projects
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
API 1104 certification for pipeline welding inspection
Familiarity with API 650 for welded storage tank construction
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in challenging environments and travel as needed
