Salary: $60,094 - $92,873

Reports to: Senior Executive Director Finance, Budget and Planning

Bargaining Unit: N/A

Telecommuting Eligibility: Eligible for telecommuting up to 40% (2 days per week)

Position Summary:

The Special Education Project Manager position facilitates several key initiatives for the District including, tracking position allocations, add-on requests, budget assignment and vacancy tracking for the District's Special Education programs. This position will manage the coordination with HR and support the School Budget Administrators regarding position modifications and staffing assignments. Additionally, this position will prepare and analyze interim and annual budget versus actual financial reports for special education programs that will be shared with senior management. The Project Manager position will report to the Senior Executive Director Finance, Budget and Planning.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree, preferably in business
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Two to three years' experience with special education programs as well as in finance or budget preferred
Essential Functions:
  • Work with the Enrollment and Student Information teams to maintain and update budgeted ESE positions
  • Ensure that all staff are assigned to the correct Position Control Number (PCN) and that the proper funding source is being utilized
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the staffing model and position reconciliation against the budgeted allocations
  • Manage ESE position requests and funding assignments using District systems, guidelines and procedures
  • Support the coding of positions and provide regular reports that detail filled versus vacancy status
  • Work with Special Education department heads and budget teams to scope out the full long-term financial impact of District initiatives and programs
  • Gather and compile source data from various Special Education departments to ensure financial budgets are aligned with actual expenses
  • Implement process improvements to improve accuracy and robustness of position and financial reporting
  • Prepare presentations for management review and reporting to department heads and members of Cabinet
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis requests
  • Complete other duties as assigned and required for effective operations of the finance department
