The IT Data Analyst III will meet the agency¿s goals by conducting data needs assessments to attain actionable mission-driven results.

The IT Data Analyst III I will:

Manage and maintain agency-related data sets of varying sizes using a variety of standard analysis tools such as Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI, R and ArcGIS, and/or other programming tools such as SAS or Python;Ensure consistency and integrity of data and;Interpret data, including statistical values, they may provide advice and consultation regarding implications and/or make recommendations for adjustments.How does it get done?

The IT Data Analyst III discerns patterns and correlates a diverse set of information to conceptualize and then translates ideas from abstract to concrete, transforming data into an audience-appropriate story to formulate actionable strategies and solutions to problems, addressing questions and concerns presented by leadership and the agency.

The IT Data Analyst III is responsible for:

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create accurate and meaningful dashboards providing data visualization communicating actionable information;Completing complex analysis using multiple methods and tools;Defining standard measures, algorithms, and data marts for use by other analysts to manage analytic foundation, improve performance, and facilitate repeatability and reproducibility;Demonstrating impact of analytic's contribution to the agency's mission and strategic goals and;Communicating complex information to a variety of audiences through a variety of mediums.Who are the customers?

Key customers include the HCA Secretary, HCA Deputy Secretaries, Directors, and CIO.Due to the vastness of the HCA data, external customers may include other State Departments/Agencies and Legislature.Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:

Four or more years of experience in advanced analytics demonstrating strong analytical skills and communication skillsThe ability to leverage disparate complex data in analytics providing leadership with necessary information to make decisions, solve problems, or answer questions;Knowledge to query various database structures using SQL, SAS, Python, or other query language to join several data sets together for analysis;The ability to read and understand data flows and data schematics with advanced working knowledge of BI tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Tableau, Strata;Demonstrated ability to engage peers and stakeholders in the education of and promotion of data literacy and ability to coach analytic peers on hard and soft skills pertaining to consultative analytical functions.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field with seven (7) years of experience directly related to position at time of posting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling eleven (11) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Office setting with extensive computer usage, may require after hours work, and some travel.
