The IT Data Engineer I will assist with the development and maintenance of the infrastructure and systems required for data storage, processing, and analysis. This is a crucial role in building and managing the data pipelines that enable efficient and reliable data integration, transformation, and delivery for all data users across the department.

The IT Data Engineer I will:

Execute Tier 1 Troubleshooting technical issues directly with customers and partners;Clearly communicate and consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify intent, identify problems, and suggest changes;Be Responsible for the economical migration of on-premises based workloads into Cloud infrastructure;Automate the elasticity of Cloud services to minimize costs during light usage and to maximize performance during peak volumes;Optimize and consolidate multiple Cloud subscriptions;Troubleshoot and support issues related to performance, security or capabilities of Cloud-based solutions;Integrate Cloud-based solutions with other Cloud or on-premises workloads;Collaborate with teams to provide technical guidance for Cloud options and;Identify inadequate or inefficient systems and suggests alternatives to reduce cost or increase efficiency to enable the company to reach its goals.How does it get done?

The IT Data Engineer I is responsible for:

Managing multiple cases at one time while adding procedural documentation;Employing design patterns and generalize code to address common use cases;Managing your own workload by accurately gauging timelines and meeting deadlines;Work independently with technical leadership to analyze field issues, provide recommendation for problem remediation and performance improvements;Assisting with Level 2 Engineering to reproduce and document customer escalated issues in house and;Communicating with stakeholders to better understand reported issues and bridge the gap between internal development design and external public facing user cases.Who are the customers?

This position will collaborate daily with the data engineer team, data analysts and like roles and security to provide the analytical community the means to support leadership in making informed decisions.Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:

Experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C/C++ and tools such as SQL, R, SAS, or Excel;Understanding of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data lake tools (Snowflake, Databricks);Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, or Teradata and;Problem-solving skills, including debugging skills, allowing the determination of sources of issues in unfamiliar code or systems, and the ability to recognize and solve repetitive problems.

Minimum Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related quantitative field and one (1) year of combined experience in cloud engineering, cloud migration, data engineering, data integration, streaming data development, data warehousing, data curation, data analysis, design, storage, and data protection and security. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related quantitative field and/or direct experience in master data management, data analytics, or data engineering cloud engineering totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Office setting with extensive computer usage, may require after hours work, and some travel
