The schedule is 4-hour work days, four to five days per week, with a max of 25 hrs/weekSkills Required:Strong written and oral communication skills.Customer service skills and ability to engage and work collaboratively with staff and clientsExperience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and web-based resources.Demonstrate the ability to work independently and multi-task with direction from Program Manager or staff member.

Education/Experience Required:

Such as may have been gained through graduation from a senior high school or its equivalentSuch as may have been gained through employment as a staff assistant to an agency head or as a technician in an office support function.Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience

Essential Functions/Tasks:

Assist MIAA staff by relieving administrative duties and responsibilities that are directly related with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), Senior Medicare Patrol Program (SMP), and Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA).Assist with monitoring and handling of the RI SHIP/SMP phone line and following up with clients that have questions and need assistance.Refer clients to appropriate resources, such as: community partner agencies, and other state and federal agencies as needed.Provide information and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers.Assist MIAA staff with Data Entry.Participate in MIAA sta? meetings, trainings and webinars as schedule permits.Participate in SHIP Training and Certification.Respect and maintain con?dentiality, professional protocols, and individual privacy.
