Join a team that has the environment down to a science.Your OpportunityAs a GIS Intern with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as provide support for assigned projects.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesUse geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information SystemsManaging GIS data and databases for larger multi-disciplinary studies.GIS analysis and mapping for environmental and infrastructure projectsDevelop web maps/applications.Supporting electronic data collection in the field.Develop GIS-based scripts, models and tools.Performs allocated project tasks within quality, time and budget requirements.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Basic understanding of general concepts of Geographical Information SystemsKnowledge of ESRI software suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps and Survey 123Knowledge of Python and AutocadDeveloping skills utilizing relevant geographic software programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDeveloping cooperative skills in working efficiently with a teamEducation and ExperienceCompleted or working towards a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in GIS or related field.Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.
Position will work primarily in an office setting, but will have opportunities to work in the field.
